What is this all about?

PoliCosmos is a nonpartisan political network designed to bring people together in an online community. Politicians, voters and others can interact to share ideas, talk about campaigns and see where others stand on the issues. At its foundation, PoliCosmos is a directory populated by its members that was created in the hope that anyone can find out where anyone else stands on political issues, from presidential candidates to state congressional candidates to local-level candidates to individual voters. Other features like blogs and issue-by-issue round table discussion boards allow you to communicate in depth with other members. Above all, PoliCosmos is designed to make it easier to engage with the political world.

Who can join?

Anyone who is at least 14 years of age can join. All you need is an email address. Click on REGISTER on the top of this page to get started.

What does PoliCosmos have to offer?

PoliCosmos is a social network. Like other social networks, you have a profile page, and you can make connections to other profiles with members who you are friends with. Your friends can write on your forum, which is a section of your profile anyone can contribute to. You can also write on theirs. On PoliCosmos, you can endorse politicians and see who other members endorse. You can list your basic views and your top issues, and you can see other members' top issues and a list of all members' top issues. You can discuss issues on the PoliCosmos round table discussion boards. Register now to see all the features!

I submitted my registration but I haven't received a confirmation email. What's going on?

Check to see that your email provider's junk/spam filters aren't blocking mail from PoliCosmos. Are you sure you submitted your registration? Try submitting it again; the system will let you know if it has already been processed. If you still don't see the confirmation email, contact us directly at support@policosmos.com and give us your account details.

I'm worried about my privacy. How does PoliCosmos protect my identity?

PoliCosmos will not sell your email address. We promise! We don't want to make money at your expense. PoliCosmos also has some built in features to protect your identity. If you don't want other users to see your last name, you can check the option to hide your last name on your profile, which will also hide it on search results pages. Be aware that your last name is always posted on mail messages you send to other users. You can also hide your email address if you so choose, which is not displayed in messages you send.

How do I edit my profile?

Just click the EDIT PROFILE link on the navigation menu on the left side of the page when you are logged in. Then fill out the details. Use the links at the top of the page to edit different parts of your profile.

There is an issue I care about that isn't listed. Why not?

While it is easy to suggest an issue, it is also important to understand how PoliCosmos defines an issue. To be listed as an issue in the issues section of this web site, the issue must be of a scope large enough that it affects or is of interest to more than a limited community. If you still feel the issue should be in the issues section, there is a link on the issues results page for suggesting an issue. Just fill out the form, and it will be sent to PoliCosmos support. We will review your suggestion and decide if the issue should be added to the site.

There is a politician I'd like to see here, but I can't find him or her on PoliCosmos. Why not?

The politician probably has not yet signed up for an account. You can try emailing them to ask them to join. Or you can fill out the invitation form by clicking INVITE on the top of any page when you log in just like you would when you invite your friends.
